People are creative to provide a need and generate income, so the side hustle has become very attractive for most business owners today. Suzanne Johns, Jay Maymi, and Jake Jordan are the Business 1st Responders, talking ‘income extension’ today.
How can you take what you’re already earning income from and extend that for additional income streams?
Jake talks about a local caterer that took a new approach that has escalated his popularity through the roof, just because he’s listening to his customers. Working with Jake, this caterer took this business model online to maximize cost savings and still bring a high end experience supper club to the community. This abbreviated version of his business is a creative way to reach more, reach differently, and elevate his brand at the same time with a high end experience. Your client base wants you to survive, they already love you! This is not a ‘covid’ service, rather a new way to do business that will take him to a new level.
Suzanne talks about using a peer group to build your business, using this strategy:
- Teach people how to do something.
- Make an outline.
- Do videos about each of those topics, share them with your peer group and get them to subscribe.
- Teach them in little increments, put it in an itinerary, and work through it.
Jay brings up a challenge when you’re going from a paycheck to an independent business owner. There’s a transition involved, and it’s a mindset. It’s easy to become the bottleneck.
“You can’t keep your foot on second base and score home.” ~ Suzanne Johns
If you’ve mastered this transition, you’ll make great money becoming a coach helping people to make the transition, too. It’s different going from sale to sale versus paycheck to paycheck. Figure out what you have to offer and get out there!
