What would happen if the majority of local business owners recognized your products and services as the absolute BEST? By that I mean, high quality, valuable, worth any price to get without buyer’s remorse.
Sound too good to be true? I talked with a business owner last week who had opened his restaurant a year ago, been featured in D Magazine, interviewed on talk shows and advertised his amazing chow through traditional methods – was even right next door to a major grocery chain – and couldn’t get ANY attention.
[shadowbox]I asked him how D Magazine improved his brand and he said, “It did absolutely nothing for me.”[/shadowbox]
He said the most traffic he’d attracted to his restaurant was through local neighborhood associations, and it was A LOT of work to woo them.
Hmmm, this type of story I’m running into ALL the time. I told him, “The problem with all of those approaches is none of them are hungry for success. What you need is an opportunity with a media outlet that’s out to make a major contribution to the local business sector and is hungry for opportunities move the needle – for themselves. THEN you can’t lose.”
Friends, that’s OffBeat Business Media in a nutshell. We want to see you making the rules, setting the standards, dictating the culture of business progressively – and without a strong, influential brand making serious dollars, we’re all just sitting ducks waiting for the establishment to put us out of business with their silly codes, taxes and penalties that give THEM governing authority over your success. And they want to put a cap on how far you can go. Businesses, after all, make waaaay tooo much money.
The difference in our approach is that we leverage the thing that makes the most difference to the strength of your brand – your ability to communicate effectively with the people who want to know more about you because you resonate with them FIRST. It’s more than hyper local thinking, it’s brand building. It’s association. It’s alliance. It’s referrals because I TRUST you, not because you say the next flashy thing or jump trends like a 15 year old.
Today we’re inundated with social media, coaches, and podcast approaches that are looking to monetize their brands with your money. I say stay away from saturated scenarios or you’ll be just another account.
Go for the GOLD, my friends. Don’t settle for digital marketing approaches that everyone is using, elevate your brand by association with other businesses who know when we are intentional and powerful, we can truly make the impact we want to have in our families, neighborhoods, communities and bank accounts.
