The whole world needs a stronger America. There. I said it. Not cool these days to be so bold in the midst of great internal and external anti-American sentiment. The mainstream media sphere would have us believe they represent the masses, those with an overwhelming disdain for our wealth and American values. As a Christ-centered patriot, I believe we have an obligation to support our nation. The OBBM audience agrees.
What’s been on my heart lately is how to convey my concern for our content-hungry obsessions, and at the same time applaud you for being vulnerable and showing up in media. Most of you are not experts in this arena, and I’m proud of you for being determined to learn. It’s vital to understand this connection between our media approach and our world stage. So I’ll start at the top, and ask you to consider this point of view thoroughly.
When I ask people if they know what our greatest export has been over the last decade, most have no idea. According to the Cox School of Business, it’s digital products. That’s technology. That’s information. In the graphic below, taken from WorldsTopExports.com you can see that not only are Apple and Cisco Systems top value exports, but also American crude, natural gasses, and petroleum have made a significant comeback on the world stage. Pharma plays the 3rd most prevalent role in top-value exports. Clearly, we impact the world, and they’re watching us.
Let’s focus on our responsibility to present a better America to the world. Information technology is not only technical, friends, it’s also the resulting information we feed the world through that technology. It’s data, and to a degree, it’s culture. We’ve told the world we’re a God-worshiping nation for over 200 years, but that’s not what they see when they view us from a distance. I’m grateful for our missionaries that physically empower disadvantaged communities with water, food, shelter, and clothes – but we put them in danger when their communities see our disparaging media. Other countries don’t claim God, WE do. Israel does.
Even the most impoverished people in the most distant nations have access to media, cell phones, and satellite. Information is at our fingertips.
We can take our role here seriously, or let the continuing demise of American journalistic and social media standards empower the world to feel they are ‘slaying the dragon’ to take us down. To many in the world, we are the very antichrist warned about in the scriptures we teach them. Many terrorist nations believe if they just take down our digital infrastructure, we’ll kill each other in the frenzy.
We’ve quit communicating face to face, become grossly intolerant of each other’s rights, and every image we share is a half-naked selfie. Our news media runs 24/7 hate speech, inciting our own nation to overthrow its government and ignore our borders, something other nations would never consider. It’s crazy out there, folks, and we’re calling ourselves ‘one nation indivisible under God.’
Big media is NOT going to change. Social media is not going to stop sharing your data, neither is Google, Facebook, or Youtube. In the face of Goliath, I believe new media is here, walking through the battle-drawn front lines and charging up his neck. Many organizations are realizing they can create media platforms that share community voices in crude but viable ways, and media as we knew it is quickly losing ground. Reasonable people don’t trust it anymore. The things that matter to US, aren’t being spoken or discussed. We’re done being fed propaganda lies that exist only to sway us to over-medicate, destroy democracy, poison our air and property, demonize those merely accused, and pit all our beautiful skin colors against one another.
When we all get together and talk … we’re just not that angry.
Face the Nation asked me to join a panel discussion on business in Dallas last summer (2018). I still have the voicemails, just for laughs! One was left introducing herself, one was left after we spoke, and the last was deciding they just weren’t coming to Dallas after all. If they can’t pit us against our government, it’s not worth their time. If we’re getting along, where’s the power?
The OBBM Network has set out to focus on the local family business sector, the ONE group in America that can independently improve its economy. We’re here to make that happen, and drive change from the grass-root front lines in every community across our great nation. Money and influence equals power, and today we can take it back. Data shows local family businesses trust what THEY choose to learn from, not only what’s fed them.
That’s why YOU – local family business – are our market.
Empowering YOU with viable media outlets, affordable advertising, and regular promotion, puts you back in front of the communities you serve. We’ve put together a marketing and advertising vehicle that makes everybody money, and empowers our nation from a local level. Listeners and viewers in business want resources they can use immediately. The OffBeat Business app offers 24/7 programming AND on demand access to their favorite messages, so they can take that ONE nugget and begin improving their life in business immediately.
OBBM strategically reaches your ideal client base using the same techniques that great networkers have used for decades. Educate referral partners for a dependable pipeline, and attract area businesses that can’t wait to align their brand with yours. Now local companies can enjoy audio and video revenue streams they never knew were possible, while becoming the familiar, clear choice for a very confused market.
