If I asked you what you stand for, what would you tell me?
Would you make a distinction between what you stand for as a business person and what you stand for as an American – and what you stand for as a person?
Would you tell me you stand for integrity? Would you tell me you stand for service? Would you tell me you stand for ‘freedom’ in some form, ‘free speech’, ‘freedom of religion’ or ‘freedom to make your own health care choices’?
Freedom to create wealth? Freedom to create opportunity?
I ask you these things because it’s time for local business to decide where it stands.
The community watches local business leaders for queues – economic indicators – that give them confidence. They often decide to stand or lay down based on the example set before them, and guess what? They’re watching YOU.
You may have been led to believe that they are watching you to see if you care enough about them to ensure their health by parroting recent health initiatives …
But I challenge you to show them their guts are not wrong on this. I challenge you to open freely and boldly, and refuse to accept un-American mandates that continue to scare the public.
You know better. Don’t believe one thing but do the opposite because YOU’RE afraid, too. You may lose money at first, but haven’t you already? Recognize that you are in danger of losing far MORE, including your right to earn an income.
Fear doesn’t just go away. Courage is not the absence of fear, it’s the ability to walk forward with your knees knocking.
The community has prayed, and Jesus said when you believe you receive, you have what you asked for. His brother James told us he learned that if you think one way and act another – if you think one way in the morning, and a different way in the evening – well, a double-minded man gets nothing from God.
Paul told us to stand. He didn’t say, “When you have done all there is to do, stand therefore, unless it gets hard or you offend someone with truth.”
By now, most of us know the truth of this virus. By now, we know that people should never have been subjected to the agony of the illness, the loss of life, and now, the continued intentional strategy to end local influence and initiate the take down of our nation.
I’ve decided I’ve seen enough. The control measures taken by our local governments, news medias, social medias, and search engines are what have convinced me this is no longer about safety – and may never have been.
Mandates are being considered right now that you will either have to comply with or go out of business – even though those mandates are against your civil liberties under the Constitution and your Bill of Rights as an American citizen.
So you’d better decide where you stand, and my prayer is that you decide to protect the communities you serve through actionable portrayal of the truth, no matter what it costs. Our forefathers did this for us, and if we fail here, our kids will not enjoy those freedoms people died for.
I’d love to know how you intend to respond to the choices set before us, and how we can back you with a well thought out strategy and team approach.
Let’s do this, ~ Susan
